![]() The plan is to challenge Love Machine with a game and lure it into a trap. This family pretty much has connections to everything. Using the families connections, they get the motherboard to a supercomputer, a big boat to generate massive power, and an antenna from the military. Half of the family at the house go plan her funeral, while Kenji and the other half try to stop Love Machine from ruining anymore electronics that can help lives. She had angina and was put on a heart monitor, but when Love Machine attacked Oz, the doctor in their family couldn’t monitor it and missed this. And to make things worse, great-grandma dies in her sleep. This reveal causes the family to chase him off. This lead to said test turning into what just happened because advance AI wanting to be used by the military is incapable of doing anything good in fiction. Later, Wabisuke reveals that he created Love Machine and that the US military wanted to test his AI. Using Kenji’s math skills, they get in the admin building to stop Love Machine, but millions of accounts are still unusable since he’s still around. Love Machine sent it out to many others who did solve it correctly, and stole all avatars who answered regardless on whether it was right or not. The picture above shows that Kenji got the answer wrong by one letter. ![]() She used to have a crush on him when she was little. To make things worse, the family finds out who Kenji really is (this family apparently has connections to everybody) and that the background Natsuki gave them about him is the same one as Wabisuke. The hacker’s name is Love Machine and is an AI formed in Pittsburgh and is now messing with everything. Though he loses when the hacker steals accounts in the form of eating avatars. So now math problems can be used as spam? Using a replacement avatar, Kenji tries to stop him, but the hacker just starts attacking until Natsuki’s cousin Kazuma fights with his avatar. Takashi calls telling him informing him that what he solved was an algorithm for Oz’s security. News reports say the culprit was Kenji since the hacker stole his avatar and account. When he sends the answer, things seem to suggest something bad. At night, he gets a message asking him to solve a ridiculously long math problem. He is a talented math whiz and was a runner-up to represent Japan in the math olympics. He’s the smart but awkward type who gets nervous on the spot. Kenji’s character isn’t anything special. Wabisuke is the illegitimate son of great-grandma’s late husband and he sold off some of her land for money so he could go to America. Everybody, especially granny, hates him, but Natsuki seems enamored with him. During a family dinner, a guy named Wabisuke crashes the party. ![]() ![]() I should add that this is a plot to a How I Met Your Mother episode. She lied to her and her whole family because, her great-grandma was sick and she said she can’t die until she meets her cool boyfriend, this guy she randomly picked. The reason why Natsuki wanted to bring Kenji is so that she can introduce him to her as her fiance and even makes up a back story for him. Throughout the movie, we learn that she’s the central pillar of the family and one many members deeply love. Natsuki’s family is very large and close with her great-grandmother being the matriarch of the household. Kenji goes where she takes him to Ueda for her great-grandma’s 90th birthday. Two part-time maintenance workers, Kenji and Takashi, are encountered by a girl at their school named Natsuki who needs one of them for a job. We are introduced to Oz, an online social media network that has become so widely used that people use it to run their daily lives from games, shopping, and even doing ones job from their house (I don’t think that includes burger flipping). “So that’s what happened to the whales Kirk saved.” The director, Mamoru Hosoda who also directed the first Digimon Movie and the sixth One Piece movie (hence why all three movies have a similar style), and writer, Satoko Okudera who did many collaboration work with Hosoda, made this movie. Summer Wars was produced by Madhouse who made it after The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, they were told to make something new. Plus, this is my first time doing a full review of a movie so apologies if it isn’t good. I’ll admit this was late since I passed the 100 mark a few weeks ago. Recently, I got over a 100 followers so to celebrate, instead of reviewing an anime series, I’ll review an anime movie. ![]()
